Most Super 8 films are silent, but some may include a soundtrack. To determine this, inspect the tape closely. A 0.5 to 0.8 mm wide orange-brown magnetic strip indicates a soundtrack, and some films may even have two. If your Super 8 films contain a soundtrack, we can digitise them as well.

How long are my Super 8 films? To determine the length of your Super 8 film, check the film spool. The length is usually indicated in metres or feet.

Alternatively, measure the diameter of the film spool and refer to the illustration below to estimate the length. Keep in mind that this method only provides the maximum possible length, while the actual length is often shorter, resulting in lower digitisation costs.
