Hard drive data recovery

We recover your data and send it back to you in 2-4 weeks. Now your memories are safe again!

Data loss is frustrating, often occurs unexpectedly and can have serious consequences. Only if you are aware of the risks can you prevent them and react quickly and effectively in an emergency. Here are some of the main reasons people lose valuable data and memories:

Hard drive data loss

  • Hardware failure: Sometimes, the problem lies in the device itself. Hard drives and other storage media can fail due to their age, wear and tear, overheating or manufacturing faults. Power cuts or voltage spikes can also lead to unexpected damage.
  • Human error: A single wrong click or a moment of distraction can lead to data loss. Accidentally deleting files or formatting drives are common mistakes that can happen to anyone.
  • Software errors: Software is not flawless either. Bugs or errors in operating systems and applications can lead to data loss if they cause system crashes.
  • Viruses and malware: Malicious programs like viruses, trojans or ransomware can steal, delete or lock your data. Ransomware, for example, encrypts files and demands payment to restore access.
  • Natural disasters: Nature can also be unforgiving. Fires, floods or earthquakes can cause physical damage to hard drives and result in irreversible data loss.

If your hard drive has already been affected by data loss, don’t worry! MEDIAFIX will take care of it, giving you the best possible chance of recovering your files.

When it comes to valuable data, recognising the signs of a failing hard drive early can be crucial in preventing data loss. Here are some warning signs that may indicate your hard drive could fail soon:

  • Slower performance: If your computer suddenly becomes significantly slower, especially when starting programmes or accessing files, it could indicate a problem with the hard drive.
  • Frequent crashes: If your system regularly crashes or freezes, particularly during booting, this is a serious warning sign.
  • Missing or corrupted files: Files disappearing without explanation or turning up damaged may indicate that the hard drive has faulty sectors.
  • Error messages: Error messages relating to reading or writing data to the hard drive are strong indicators of possible faults.
  • Blue screens: Frequent “Blue Screen of Death” (BSOD) errors on Windows may also point to hard drive issues.
  • Unusual noises: A clear sign of problems is unusual noises such as clicking, humming or grinding coming from the hard drive. These sounds may indicate mechanical damage inside the drive. Here is an example:

If you notice any of these signs, don’t wait. The sooner you act, the better the chance of saving your data. MEDIAFIX can assess the condition of your hard drive and help you recover your precious files.
