In which resolution are my VHS digitised?
We convert your VCR videos to digital in the same resolution as recorded. Depending on the type of cassette, the resolution can vary.
Can my recordings be improved afterwards?

Can purchased video cassettes also be converted?
No, this is not possible due to copyright reasons, except you can have permission in writing from the author/creator.

Yes, video cassettes with copy protection can be converted to MP4 files, but not on DVD.
Can longplay cassettes be converted?

What's the difference between MP4 files and DVD?
If you transfer VHS to to DVD, you can easily play them in a DVD player. MP4 files enable you to edit, copy and share your videos afterwards.
How much disk space is required for converting VCR tapes to digital?
For a 90 minute cassette about 6.5 GB disk space is needed. For a S-VHS or Betamax cassettes it will be about double the size.
Why is saving as MP4 files so expensive?
Converting VHS to MP4 files and quality control take much longer than converting to DVD. This expense leads to higher costs.
Why can S-VHS cassettes only be converted to MP4 files?
S-VHS already use a digital format and therefore only can be converted to MP4.
How can I edit the videos by myself afterwards?
There are many free programs that will serve this purpose. The only requirement is converting to MP4 files.
