Photo albums are so lovely, since they tell stories or just let you reminisce. For sure we forget about them too often – all of these albums that tell a story about a whole life or a special time. Most of the time they’re stored in cabinets and keep all these memories for themselves.

But all of these unique memories are in danger:

  • Your photos in your albums won’t last forever: Every analogue media is evanescent. Especially the photo paper from the 80’s and 90’s is hit hard by the signs of age, since its quality was quite bad back then.
  • Tears, scratches, finger prints: Over the years the photos start to collect finger prints, get torn or the glue starts to weaken. In result, your unique recordings are no more enjoyable.
  • Faded colours are signs of age that can’t be undone and they show that you shouldn’t longer hesitate to have your photo albums digitised –  before image quality gets even worse.
  • Colour casts also indicate decay, but can be removed. The sooner you have your pictures scanned, the better.

Don’t wait any longer and start your non-binding request still today. Our customer service will answer all our questions.

Bring your memories to life with digitised photo albums. All the wonderful moments from your family’s life can be easily viewed together on your PC, TV or tablet and sent around the world with just one click.

How to benefit from digitised photo albums

  • Saving memories. Your photographs are unmistakably unique, cherished memories that are worth saving! Sooner or later you will look back on them with a grateful smile.
  • Edit shots. Sometimes it’s just tiny details that can ruin a great picture, like the red eyes on smiling faces. Such things can be quickly improved in the digital image.
  • Share. A pasted photo print isn’t as easy to share as a digital file. Once your album is digitised, you can share the beautiful shots with just one click – and with the whole family.
  • View on the phone, PC, TV or beamer. Of course, a photo album has its very own charm. But your old treasures on the PC, TV or tablet offer you completely new ways to enjoy your beautiful shots.
  • Wall prints and other decoration options. From a small photo to a large-scale work of art: print your most beautiful shots on canvas, T-shirt or mugs and make yourself or your loved ones happy!

How can I deliver my photo albums?

You can deliver your photo albums by post. Just send them to the following address:

MEDIAFIX Logistics Centre
AMCO Park, Acanthus Road
B98 9EX

Will I get my photo albums back?

Yes, of course you will get your photo albums back together with your digital images.

What about the labelings of my photos in the albums? Are they taken on?

If you choose to have whole pages scanned, all the labelings and writings are taken on. If you want single photos scanned from the album, you also have the option that your labelings will be scanned, too.

The pages in my albums are separated by thin sheets in between. Will this cause problems in the scanning process?

No, this won’t be a problem.

Should I rather have whole pages scanned or single photos?

Both options have their advantages:

  • Scanning whole pages from the album means that every page is scanned completely and you receive one image file for each page. The advantage is that the layout is kept as in the original and labelings and writings are taken on, too.
  • If you want all the photos scanned, every single photo is digitised. The advantage is the pictures then have a higher resolution.

Will the photos be removed from the album during the scan process?

No, everything will stay in its original place.

The colours of my photos have shifted. Can I have this corrected with post-processing?

Yes, we provide an additional service, which will colour-correct these colour casts and contrast. For comparison you will get back the processed image files and the original ones to see the difference.

How does digitising at MEDIAFIX work?

Having your photo albums scanned at MEDIAFIX is really easy:: Just call us at or start a request with the contact form. Don’t forget to add the signed order form.

IMPORTANT: Without the order form and your signature we are not able to process your order! You can send your media by post. When everything is done, we will of course return your photo albums.

Isn't it easier to scan my photo albums myself?

A good scanner for photos and photo negatives is expensive to buy (from 500 € upwards), so it is only worthwhile if you want to have a very large number of photos digitised. In addition, cheap devices often only allow low resolutions, which leads to a poor quality of the photo scans.

Regardless of the device, single-image scans are extremely time-consuming and professional cleaning of the photos is difficult. Operations therefore often have to be repeated because there is dust on the photos or the image was scanned crooked. The handling of the photo scanner is also not self-explanatory. Therefore, it is not so easy to digitise photos yourself.
